DIGA-3035-01 M1 CP Artist"s Statement **

Artist’s statement:
I construct things from many materials for humans and other creatures. For this segment, I’ll choose the work before home construction. No,I am not an interior designer or a renovator. I build houses, boutiques, Places of worship, barns, and bridges. Graphic design comes in handy to illustrate to potential customers what the basic model will be. The floorplans are the art that I do. I draw floorplans using graph paper, colored pencils, and pens before I start to build houses and the like. I draw lines of walls, steps, and objects in the homes. I want to see where everything can fit. I show where the sink or washer is going. Things like that. Customers want to know what to expect. I don't like working over someone else’s work. I’ll create the whole thing. From the foundation (my favorite) to the roof vent. When the customer wants me to change a wall (or whatever), there is a change in price. I put moves/changes on a copy of the floorplans to tell the story in case memory fails.
I like drawing simple outlines for beautiful structures. There should be no parts poking in my eyes. Easy to look at and easy to navigate.  Unless the buyer wants it otherwise, I do some pretty excellent work.

This is my living room floor, tongue and groove solid bamboo hardwood.
